Message from President and President-Elect

Dear TSHIMA Members,

We hope this email message finds you in good health and high spirits. As the President and Vice President of the Twin State Health Information Management Association, we are excited to address you, our esteemed professional members, who play a crucial role in advancing the field of Health Information Management (HIM).

Our organization thrives because of the dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit that each of you brings to the table. Your commitment to ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of health information is instrumental in enhancing patient care, improving operational efficiencies, and supporting the overall healthcare system.

We would like to take this opportunity to share some of our recent accomplishments and upcoming initiatives:

1. Professional Development Opportunities: We will launch a series of webinars and workshops designed to keep our members updated with the latest trends and best practices in HIM. These sessions have received excellent feedback, and we encourage you to participate in our future events to continue your professional growth.
2. Advocacy and Policy Engagement: Our advocacy efforts have been robust this year and in line with AHIMA Advocacy Policies. We have been actively engaging with state legislators and policymakers to promote regulations that support the HIM profession and address key issues such as data privacy, electronic health records (EHR) interoperability, and telehealth.  We are looking forward to sending a Vermont and New Hampshire TSHIMA member to the AHIMA Advocacy Summit in March of 2025.
3. Networking and Community Building: Building a strong community is at the heart of our mission. In-person meetings and live webinars will help build your networking and our community to become a strong HIM collaborative.
4. We are very excited to go into the 2024-2025 year as the TWIN STATE HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (TSHIMA). We could not have done this without all of you, the members!

Looking ahead, we are committed to continuing our work in these areas and exploring new opportunities to support our members. Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable to us, and we welcome your input on how we can better serve you and advance our profession.

In closing, we express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication to the Twin State Health Information Management Association. Together, we can continue to make significant strides in Health Information Management and positively impact the healthcare industry.
