Advocacy Summit Was A Success

I hope this message finds you well. I am excited to share an update on the recent success of our AHIMA Advocacy Summit and Hill Day!

Thanks to your support and engagement, we had an incredibly impactful event that brought together professionals from across the health information management industry to advocate for the advancement of health information management. The sessions were full of insightful discussions, and we had the privilege of meeting with key policymakers on Capitol Hill to discuss important issues impacting our field.

We were able to:

• Meet with four out of the six Vermont and NH representatives, dropping off information for those who could not meet with us

• Present our ask to the staffers, who asked great questions and were committed to taking requests back to the our lawmakers

  • Asked for support on the introduction of the MATCH IT Act

  • Asked for a sponsor or co-sponsor to introduce a bill on the floor around AI and workforce training

We are excited about the momentum generated from this event and look forward to building on this success in the coming months.
